MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS
Crisis Supports & Case ManagementIf you are in need of resources such as a counselor for a mental health crisis, or would benefit from a parent or educational consult for your children regarding an IEP or difficulties with family dynamics - we are here for you, with a team of art and play therapists that have varied experience working with families and children.
Let us help and be on your team. |
Experiential Healing OpportunitiesLearn coping strategies to heal and practice socialization to decrease isolation.
Self-Care is a way to decrease suffering. Join us for Community Play Dates that include Yoga, Sound Baths, Acupuncture/Cupping, Nature-Based Excursions and Empowerment Workshops for all ages! |
Psychoeducational SupportsMental Health is something we all aim to have. Mental Illness occurs when we are not taking care of our mental health. We know that some of us have never learned the difference.
Often the world itself can create toxic stress that impacts our minds, bodies and spirits. Playfulness is a way to counteract maladaptive thinking and unhealthy habits by encouraging a balance in the nervous system and a decrease in cortisol, the stress hormone. We seek to be a safe space. |
MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
The Therapeutic Play Foundation provides counseling and therapy services via telehealth and we accept some insurances.
We also accept private pay clients and reduced rate options.
Some in-person sessions may be offered for those needing intensive interventions; particularly school-aged children who would benefit from in-person play therapy. This is determined on a case by case basis and is up to the provider and client. Social distancing rules apply due to COVID-19.
COMMUNITY PLAY DATES
The Therapeutic Play Foundation offers a once per month Community Play Date. Due to COVID-19, enrollment is limited so that we can adhere to social distancing regulations and we must wear masks and be outside for the events. We schedule one event per month based on the interest/sign ups received from the community. There is no cost to attend, but enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
To sign up for mental health services, please click the "Submit an Intake for Counseling Services" button below. To express interest in attending a scheduled or future Community Play Date, please click the "Sign Up for a Workshop or Group" link below. You will be contacted to confirm meeting date, location and time.
Both links advise you to submit a name and email address and you will be directed to set up a login with a system called Intake Q where you will fill out the forms.
This protocol is in place so that information submitted remains secure.
Most Community Play Dates and face-to-face Counseling sessions will take place at the
Southern California Children's Museum, where TPF is housed, or within the community
at a public park or trail (if a nature based excursion).
